Carbon fiber tubs and body panels slash mass and raise torsional rigidity, but they demand autoclave‑grade repair, micro‑accurate layup, and specialist inspection for delamination, so a minor parking knock becomes a structural question instead of a cheap fender fix.
Most fragile of all is thermal management. Tight packaging that shortens intake runners and shrink‑wraps radiators around a mid‑mounted engine cuts drag and improves charge‑air density, yet it also leaves razor‑thin margins for coolant flow, oil film stability, and brake heat rejection when stuck in slow traffic, which turns every commute into a stress test of pumps, hoses, and seals.
